Cosmetic Condition: The mic itself is in Very Good to Excellent condition with some light oxidation/wear to the metal casing. The shock mount will need a new stringing as one of the strings is broken and it is not currently strung up. Also, the plastic piece that tightens to hold the mic in the shock mount needs some cajoling to release the mic. We found a flat head screw driver did the trick easily.

Description: Microphones don’t come much more legendary than the AKG C414 and the “EB” variant with the CK12 Brass Capsule element is especially revered not just by collectors but also for serious engineers/producers who recognize the musicality of the extra brilliance these mics have in the top end and natural response it provides across the spectrum. This particular C414EB from the late 1970s sounds absolutely spectacular and we believe the engineer/producer that is lucky enough to score this classic will find him/herself reaching for it often and being inspired by it every time.
