Description: Attention Marshall historians, collectors, obsessives: We got a rare one here for ya! We had to do a triple take at this Marshall P.A. speaker from ’68 because…well, we’ve never seen another like it. Dig the short, stocky”Bulldog” stature cab size and 55 years of radical relic’ng on the basket weave cabinet. Pop open the back and you’ll find the biggest, bluest and most beautiful (and most toneful) original Fane speaker. Inside you’ll also find a bunch of writing on the handle and on the pine sides. Among the scribbled English phone number, various dates (1968, 1974), a company name and other writing, you’ll find, in huge letters, the name “Jack Bruce” and “Eric Calapton” (sp). We’re guessing that Jack or Eric himself didn’t misspell his own last name but we have a sneaking suspicion (admittedly no proof though) that this was written by a roadie, stage hand or other crew member of the band Cream. The fact that this cab was imported from England by the previous owner in the 90s offers some evidence that this theory could be true. Regardless of its history, this piece stands tall as a true Rock n’ Roll survivor, a rare specimen and one hell of a great sounding cabinet.
