Description: Vintage Gretsch Country Gentleman guitars are just about as classic as they come. George Harrison, Lou Reed, Johnny Marr and of course the model’s namesake, the great Chet Atkins all made history on the ol’ Country Gent. That said, not all vintage Gretsch’s are created equal. They’re not all great and can very widely from one example to the next making buying a vintage Gretsch online a somewhat nerve-wracking experience. We are shootin’ you straight though when we say this is one of the good ones..one of the damn good ones. It came to our shop from one of the best guitar tech’s in the Midwest and it delivers the Gretsch goods in spades. It’s round neck feels great in the hands and the neck is straight with room for adjustment up or down. The re-fret was well done with vintage-style frets and makes Gretsch this a joy to play. The pickups are strong and help give a characterful, rich tone that will inspire you to write, record and just keep on playing it. If you’re after a vintage Gretsch hollowbody and don’t need it to be the exact year of George’s, you owe it to yourself to consider this great ol’ Gent!
