The back has shrunk slightly more than the sides making the back come just shy of meeting the very edge of the sides. The guitar is very stable and has done all the moving it’s going to do over the last 100+ years.
Functional Condition: Fully-functioning. The neck angle on this guitar is great and it is easy to play up and down the neck.
Description:
Look at this beautiful survivor from the WWI-era! This model is affectionately referred to as the “Robert Johnson” because he was famously pictured with a sunburst variation of the model. They don’t make them like this any more! A carved/arched solid Spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides with a beefy “V” neck, tortoise tailpiece and other beautiful appointments. The neck of this guitar was reset and it actually plays wonderfully well and the tone is pure Gibson from that era. For the finger picker and Gibson and Blues history lover, it is a delight from a long gone era.
