Peerless Retromatic Semi Hollowbody

Year: 2013

Origin: South Korea

Color: Black

Neck: Mahogany neck with Rosewood fretboard. 1 and 11/16″ nut width

Case/Extras: Original Peerless hard case. Case would have been considered in very good shape or better were it not for a sizeable chew mark (?) from a dog or possibly very hungry human at the front end of the it. Please see photos for more detail.

Modifications/Repairs: There was a clean break at the neck that was repaired by the best repairman in Chicago. It is very stable and not very noticeable. The tremolo unit has been replaced with a Gibson-style “stop tail” bridge. The original bridge is included although we’re not 100% sure if all pieces are included with the extra tremolo bridge. The decorative truss rod cover that has the Peerless name on it is missing.

Cosmetic Condition: Good condition with some small dings some of which are in the body and some in the headstock, the aforementioned visible screw holes and some other light signs of the guitar’s age. There are no cracks, crack repairs or other repairs or other structural issues of any kind. 8 out of 10 condition.

Operational condition: Fully-functioning

Description: Here’s a wonderful playing and sounding semi-hollow guitar from the Peerless brand that was owned by an original member of a somewhat underground band that is never the less beloved by a lot of fans. We’ll give you a hint.. the band this guitarist played in was on the “Angus” soundtrack as well as other soundtracks in the 90s and is still touring to this day! Anyway, It plays great too with a thinner to medium profile neck and incredibly fast and low action without buzzing. It’s a joy to play and also sounds great. If you don’t mind the repair and some road wear.
