Made in: Fullerton, CA. USA

Time of manufacture: 1981. The neck and body both date to 1979 while the pickups and original pots date to ’81.

Finish: Natural

Neck description: Full, “U” shape neck that was commonly used in this era. It fills up the hand nicely and comfortably

Case: Comes with original black molded Fender case

Weight: 9lbs 12oz

Mods changes: The volume pot was changed around 2016 and the pickup selector was changed to a newer five-way. A short shielded wire was added from the jack to one tone pot to reduce noise. Lightning decal added. All other parts/electronics are original

Operational Condition: Fully-Functional. Neck is straight and truss rod works. The frets are typical 70s-style / fairly low but the guitar’s playability is excellent with low action

Cosmetic Condition: Good with a few points broken off the pick guard and back plate, added lightning decal (that looks awesome) and various dings, scratches, some missing topcoat at the very end of the headstock and other signs of its 44 or so years. Overall condition is a 7.5 out of 10.

Description: This is such a excellent-sounding and playing Strat and its quality really flys in the face of folks that claim Fender wasn’t making great guitars in this era. The “U” shape neck is chunky but not too chunky and it’s worn in just the right way. The guitar is resonant and the original pickups have really nice character and clarity and sound very musical. Plus, the lightning bolt decal that’s been added will make you feel like a musical Flash Gordon.
